About

In college Kris found her entry into competitive sport via martial arts achieving her black belt in Taekwondo (ITF). Training for her black belt required that she learn her way around the weight room. 25yrs later her commitment to strength training hasn’t changed. After her first 10 yrs working as a French and English language teacher and Manager of Instruction for Language schools in Europe, she transitioned to personal training when she returned to the US in 2010. Kris started her fitness career as an ACE certified personal trainer but quickly became a group exercise instructor across multiple formats (including Spin, Body Pump and self programmed Boot Camps) as well. She then had the unique opportunity to build an in-house comprehensive Strength and Conditioning program that met people where they were at in their fitness journey and helped them achieve their goals, as the Program Director at Coast Fitness, a 4500 member gym. She led the personal training team, group exercise team and developed the in-house strength and conditioning program, SMASH S&C. Kris has had extensive experience leading strength and conditioning classes across several different facilities, including CrossFit South Bay as well as coaching various disciplines of professional and Olympic athletes for Velocity Sports Performance in Los Angeles. She is passionate about continuing to learn in the field of human movement, which includes over 60 hours of continuing education in corrective exercise, a year spent building a return to sport program at a Physical Therapy/Sports Performance facility in Boulder and becoming a Precision Nutrition Master Health coach.
